Football hair God David Beckham had a profound effect on how footballers styled their mane on the field. From Pogba, Neymar, to Ronaldo, here are some active footballers who are sporting some of the coolest looking hairstyles to date.
Marco Reus – Comb Over/Short Sides
Going for the more classic footballer cut of short sides and combed over top, German attacking midfielder Marco Reus sports one of the fresher cuts in world football. His dew includes a dash of blonde highlights which makes his hair pop during those goal celebrations.
Paul Pogba – Half and Half
The French midfielder seems to sport a new themed haircut every other week. While he occasionally focuses the design on the sides — even donning the Batman symbol at one point– his latest Red Devils efforts go for the half and half look, mixing in red, orange, and blonde. Pogba has a personal barber he apparently flies around the world so stay tuned to Instagram for his next look.
Gareth Bale – Top Knot
For the last two seasons, Gareth Bale has treated his long hair to a man bun or top knot. And with that bicycle kick on replay from the 2018 Championship League final, no one will ever forget it.
Antoine Griezmann – High Taper Fade
A footballer of many exploratory hairstyles, the Frenchman’s blonde-infused fresh cut in 2016 was on point. The myth, however, is that he plays better with a classic cut.
Olivier Giroud – Punk Comb Over
The classy Frenchman rarely changes his hairstyle as he likes to show off the slicked back comb over with a slim cut on the sides.
Stephan El Shaarawy – Mohawk
The Italian-Egyptian starlet aka “The Pharaoh” showcases a mystical haircut that seems to stand up with absolute perfection.
Paulo Dybala – High Taper Fade
Nicknamed “The Jewel” for his special playmaking and scoring abilities on Juventus and Argentina, Dybala enjoys the mid-length comb over with short-cut sides.
Gerard Pique – High and Spiky
The Barcelona defender likes to keep his tapered haircut extra high and spiky. Other than a head shave in 2013, he’s had this cut style for years.
David De Gea – So Fresh So Clean
The Spanish goalkeeper likes to keep it simple and clean. The sides are almost completely shaven and then the top is kept short. His facial hair helps complete the look.
Neymar – Faux Hawk with Blonde Streaks
The king of haircuts — he had three different styles at the 2018 World Cup — Neymar sported some of his edgier styles during his time at Barcelona. The one he wore in 2014 had the sides shaved with a blonde faux hawk up top. Be sure to ask your barber for the Neymar.
Ronaldo – Zig Zag Razor with Faux Top
A canvass of closely snipped hair, Ronaldo sported the zig zag during World Cup 2014 against the United States.
