It’s been a rough week for the Rashford family. The brother and agent of Manchester United star striker Marcus Rashford, Dane Rashford, has been arrested on a domestic violence charge in Miami, Florida.
The 31-year-old allegedly struck his girlfriend, Andrea Pocrnja, while on vacation in Miami Beach. According to multiple reports, the woman ran through the hotel’s lobby in the early morning hours of October 20 with a bloody nose. Dane allegedly punched the victim twice.
Before the incident, Rashford was said to be looking at Pocrnja’s phone and discovered text messages from another man. The couple share a 13-month-old daughter, whom the babysitter looked after during the vacation. The sitter shares no knowledge of the incident.
Dane Rashford pleaded not guilty in court the next day and proceeded to get bailed out by his sister. Dane is set to return to court on November 27 for another hearing or face re-arrest for the domestic violence charge.
Marcus reacted furiously after hearing the news. “Get that head of yours up immediately,” Marcus shared on his Instagram stories. The brothers once shared a bunk bed during a tough childhood growing up. After Marcus’s footballing career blew up at Manchester United, Dane set up DN May Sports Management to become his younger brother’s agent.
Meanwhile, Marcus experienced a disappointing match against Copenhagen in last night’s Champions League group stage match. The 26-year-old forward received a debatable red card for a challenge just before half-time.
“No way is that a red card for Rashford,” wrote pundit Jamie Carragher on platform X. “Hate these slow motion replays & still images that make everything look 10 times worse.”
United lost the match 4-3, putting their Champions League knockout stage advance in danger.
