YouTuber Jake Paul has recently dropped a tantalizing hint that football icon Cristiano Ronaldo may be present at his highly-anticipated boxing match against Tommy Fury on Sunday.
The two fierce rivals, Paul and Fury, will go head-to-head in an explosive eight-round bout at Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia.
This is the third time the two have attempted to bout. Fury previously called off the first two proposals in 2021 and 2022.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s ringside attendance amplifies super-fight night
Two months ago, 38-year-old Ronaldo signed the world’s largest football contract worth $207 million annually with Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr. He’s put his $6.6 mansion in Manchester up for sale.
He’s adapting to life in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as shown in his girlfriend’s desert excursion snaps with the family. On Wednesday, the Portuguese international joined fellow teammates in celebrating Saudi Founding Day.
And now it looks like Cristiano Ronaldo will have some Sunday night plants at the boxing arena to watch Jake Paul battle, Tommy Fury.
Young fans caught Jake Paul during one of his pre-fight jogs in Dubai on Monday. They got autographs, performed “The Griddy” with the boxer, and questioned the former YouTube star.
When they asked Paul about the Al Nassr striker, he responded, “Yeah, I think he’s coming to the fight.”
The possibility of Ronaldo’s presence at the Diriyah venue thrilled the kids. Expecting the superstar striker’s appearance only adds to the buzz of the big event.
Like Ronaldo, Paul intends to give Piers Morgan an explosive interview on Thursday night. The broadcast comes just ahead of his highly-anticipated fight with Tommy Fury.
Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury promised to be a doozy
Despite his relatively short and polarizing career in the ring, the 26-year-old American has emerged victorious in his latest fights. He defeated accomplished fighters such as Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley.
But this time, the British boxer turned Love Island star promises to finish Jake Paul’s athletic career for good. “When I’m done, this guy will never box ever again,” Tommy Fury told the Top Rank YouTube Channel.
Tommy is the brother of two-time world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, who’s encouraged his brother to take the brawl seriously.
“Jake Paul’s a decent boxer, you know, Fury said in an interview with Sky Sports last January.
Moreover, “a lot of people think he’s just some YouTube person who doesn’t know how to box, but I’ve actually seen him training, I’ve actually seen his fights, and I think he’s decent,”
“I think he’s, like, a novice professional — and he’s only had five or six fights, so he’s exactly as good as he should be at this stage. He’s not no Olympic boxer, but then again, neither am I, so what does that even mean?”
The fight between the former entertainers turned professional boxers goes live on ESPN + (US) and BT Sport (UK) pay-per-view.
