31-year-old Gareth Bale is not retiring, contrary to reports.
Sources purported that Bale could no longer stand the pressure of football and wanted to “disconnect” from it all by devoting himself to golf.
Gareth Bale‘s agent Jonathan Barnett has described speculation that the Real Madrid forward will retire after the Euros as ‘rubbish’, according to Talk Sport.
Instead, Bale is waiting to decide his future — he’s still under contract with Real Madrid with Spurs awaiting their next boss to discuss a possible transfer for the Welshman.
Bale is coming off a productive season on loan to Tottenham. The forward finished the season with 16 goals and 3 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.
He recorded the best goals per minute ratio in the Premier League this season with a goal every 83 minutes. For players with 10+ goals, only Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 1998-99 has a better mins/goal ratio in a single season in the league (one every 71 mins).
With Bale still in great form, don’t expect him to terminate any Madrid contracts and starting his professional golf career just yet.
