The legendary Johan Cruyff died six years ago today.
The Dutchman revolutionized football in his own unique way, influencing the modern game with his philosophy of architecture and space on the field.
“Playing football is very simple, but playing simple football is the hardest thing there is,” once said Cruyff.
“Quality without results is pointless. Results without quality is boring.”
More than a footballer, a gold-medal jump roper too
The 3-time European Footballer of the Year award (Ballon d’Or), Ajax legend, and Barcelona hero also had a knack for jump-rope.
Watch Cruyff teaching Ballon d’Or winner Hristo Stoichkov how to skip rope at Barcelona 27 years ago.
Needless to say, it doesn’t go as well for Stoichkov.
