You can’t believe everything you read online, especially on platform X. It is the election season in the US, after all.
Juventus’s English X handle tweeted early on Monday that the Turin club had signed Guler. The share showed an image of Guler at the airport with the leading sentence, “Welcome to Juventus, Arda Guler!”
Arda Guler to Juventus? Not so fast
The club’s football diehards immediately smelled out the hack, forcing Juventus to respond.
The Juventus FC main account on X formally warned that the “English account has been compromised.” You think?
The transfer window is closed, and while Guler was linked with a loan move to Juventus last summer, a deal is unlikely.
Guler has featured in the first team at Real Madrid this season after a breakout campaign last year. Despite an injury spell, he scored six goals in 10 La Liga matches last season.
The teenage starlet, who transferred for $20 million from Fenerbache to Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2023, is still looking for more consistent playing time under Ancelotti. The “Turkish Messi” has yet to score or assist in ten appearances this season.
Is the Juventus post foreboding, a big club abusing the dark arts of fake news to project a future reality? Perhaps.
Blessed with talent, Real Madrid may take a keen interest in the next transfer window to give the Turkish youngster some time to shine elsewhere.
