Lionel Messi and Neymar may feature in the hit game Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.
According to popular Call of Duty player and video game leaker @TheGhostofHope and corroborated by Insider Gaming, the PSG teammates are set to cast along with other footballers, including Paul Pogba, when the game releases on October 28.
That’s right, get ready to play Messi, Neymar, and Pogba as operators on the battlefield. Pogba partnered with Activision on Call of Duty: Warzone two years ago.
Warzone also hosted Godzilla Vs. Kong as part of a special player event earlier this year.
Crossing over video games with the world’s elite footballers
With the World Cup Qatar starting next month, Activision is looking to ride the buzz of the world’s biggest sport. Arsenal starlet Bukayo Saka has already started promoting the new game on social media.
Some think the video game publisher could also set up a launch football event to follow the release of Call Of Duty: Warzone 2.0, due out on November 16, four days before the start of the World Cup.
Whether or not the Messi-Neymar-Pogba rumors are true, it’s exciting to think about the possibility of playing as some of the world’s best football players in the popular video game.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will be playable on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Xbox One. Players who digitally pre-order the game can get early access beginning October 20.
