never expected to find a twin he’d never known, yet that’s exactly the story behind his latest spot for Stella Artois. In a playful 60-second ad called “David and Dave,” Beckham learns from his parents that he has a brother named Dave, who is no other than Matt Damon.

The revelation unfolds amid a barbecue scene full of wings, laughter, and, of course, cold beer.

A surprising “family” reunion

The commercial, slated to air during Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, follows Beckham’s journey from to the United States, where he meets his long-lost sibling. Damon’s Dave, an affable American whose backyard doubles as a sports field, introduces Beckham to the delights of buffalo wings.

Damon’s Beckham also shows off his signature flair by sending a football soaring, bonding the two brothers in a lighthearted moment. “I’ve been partnering with Stella Artois for a decade now and get more excited with each year,” Damon said in a statement. “I can’t wait to keep telling the story of ‘David and Dave’ all year and shedding light on those moments in life worth more, where meaningful connection means more than anything.”

The Chiefs will face the Eagles that night, but some viewers might tune in just to catch Beckham’s comedic turn. This spot marks Stella Artois’s first Super Bowl ad in six years, and it also continues Beckham’s streak of appearing on game day, since he starred in a 2024 ad with his wife, Victoria, for Uber Eats. Stella Artois, owned by Anheuser-Busch, plans to follow up with more ads featuring Beckham and Damon through the rest of 2025.

Brandon Drew, VP of Artists Equity Advertising, described the campaign’s inspiration: “The tastefully over the top concept of ‘David and Dave’ was born from the question: what are some amazing life moments that deserve a Stella Artois? In 60 seconds we hopefully make you feel something real and leave you wanting the next part of the story.”

With the NFL’s biggest night as its stage, “David and Dave” aims to spotlight life’s small celebrations, the moments shared by family and friends—even if that family includes a long-lost twin. The brothers unite over beer, discover their differences, and toast to making up for lost time. It’s a plot twist only the Super Bowl can deliver.
