won his second African Player of the Year award at the CAF Awards in Rabat, Morocco.

The Senegalese winger beat out his former Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah and fellow teammates Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly, also shortlisted for the award.

It marks the second time head and captains of the CAF senior national teams have voted for Mane to win the annual award — he last won in 2019 before the pandemic put a pause on the ceremony for three years.

A well-deserved double for the Senegalese King

Sadio Mane is the continent's best footballer for a second time, tying Mo Salah.

The Senegalese player won the African Cup of Nations, the country's first, and was named the tournament's best player. The triumph also secured a ticket to the ticket for the Teranga Lions.

Mane enjoyed another stellar year at Liverpool, winning the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. The 30-year-old signed for Bavarian giants Bayern Munich this summer.
