West Ham star Declan Rice is on the verge of becoming the most expensive English player ever.

While Arsenal or Manchester City throw their wallets at the Hammers to get the deal done, let's review the most expensive English players of all time.

Declan Rice — $133 million (West Ham to Arsenal or Manchester City, 2023)

Move over, . The 24-year-old West Ham midfielder Declan Rice looks set to break City's $127.5 transfer fee for Grealish in 2021.

As Arsenal launches its third and final bid, all Rice must be thinking, where will he have to buy his next mansion?

Jack Grealish – $127.5 million ( to Man City, 2021)

Grealish moved from Aston Villa to Manchester City in 2021 for a reported fee of around $127.5 million.

After a rough start, the creative midfielder has proven to be a valuable addition to the City squad, leading the Sky Blues to this year's historic treble.

– $113 million (Dortmund to Real Madrid, 2023)

In the summer of 2023, Real Madrid signed one of the best young players in the world, 19-year-old Jude Bellingham.

The midfielder inherits Zidane's iconic number 5 shirt and has some big shoes to fill. But his rapid ascension from Birmingham City to Dortmund in just two years means the sky is the limit for this young talent.

Maguire – $102 million ( to Man Utd, 2019)

Harry Maguire became the most expensive defender in 2019 when he penned a $102 million deal that moved him from Leicester City to Manchester United.

The fee beat out Liverpool's signing of defender Virgil Van Dijk in January 2018 for £75 million and levels Ronaldo-to-Real Madrid's fee of $ 100 million ahead of the 2009/10 season.

Unlike Grealish, who turned his first-year struggles around at Man City, Maguire has yet to find his footing at Old Trafford. The player is one of the transfer prospects for summer 2023, with Tottenham his likeliest destination.
