Borussia Dortmund have reached a ‘verbal agreement’ with Real Madrid over Erling Haaland, according to Spanish outlet Diariomadridista. If valid, that gives Real Madrid ‘first refusal’ on the Norwegian superstar.
With Mbappe and Paul Pogba also headed to the Santiago Bernabéu next season as free agents, the 2022 summer transfer window could somehow be bigger than 2021.
Real Madrid are gearing up for the next Galacticos era.
“Haaland can be with Mbappé, the great footballers are always together,” said Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola. Haaland and Pogba are both clients of Raiola.
“They told me that Haaland is going to Madrid, 100%. That’s what they tell me, but I don’t know if it’s true,” BeIn Sports pundit and ex-Italian player Christian Vieri also recently confirmed on Twitch.
Despite the financial pressures posed by COVID-19, Real Madrid appear to be in good business shape.
“Real Madrid have the money to sign Mbappe and Haaland together,” confirmed La Liga president Javier Tebas.
The beasts of all beasts
21-year-old Haaland has already scored more hat tricks (11) than star strikers Van Nistelrooy, Rooney, Eto’o, or Drogba earned in their entire careers. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has already crowned Haaland the “next Superstar.”
“I do not score enough goals. I personally think that I should have had more goals than matches,” replied Haaland who’s now scored 20 goals in his last 16 games.
It’s almost impossible to imagine Mbappe, Haaland, and Pogba in the same lineup for Los Blancos — especially with United, Liverpool, Manchester City, and PSG also keen on such players. But with the sensational transfers of Messi and Ronaldo this summer, nothing is too outrageous.
