David Beckham keeps making it happen for his Inter Miami team. According to Marca, the Herons will be the final MLS participant for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup next summer.
FIFA President Gianni, currently in Miami, will officially announce the team’s inclusion tomorrow.
FIFA selected the Ft. Lauderdale side as the final Concacaf participant in the newly expanded 32-team tournament. Europe gets the most entries with 12 teams, led by recent UEFA Champions Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Miami will also likely play in the Club World Cup opening game. Imagine that match: pitting Real Madrid against Inter Miami!
The tournament will occur between June 15 and July 2025, and all 12 venues will be on the East Coast of the United States. The final will be at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The forthcoming announcement follows the team’s first-ever Supporters’ Shield this season, led by potential MLS MVP Lionel Messi. Can the Herons wrap up the season as MLS Cup Champions?
