FC Barcelona celebrated back to back La Liga titles over the weekend after beating Levante one nil. It is the Blaugrana’s 4th title in the last 5 seasons and 26th league title overall. Only Real Madrid have more La Liga titles with 33.
Lionel Messi came on as a substitute to score the game-winning goal in the 62nd minute. It was his 34th goal of the season which equals last year’s tally. It was also his 24th strike as a substitute, the most by any player coming off the bench this century!
This is Messi’s first league title as captain of the club — the legendary player now has 10 La Liga titles under his belt with a chance to add a Copa del Rey and Champions League trophy by season’s end.
