This summer’s Copa America 2024 promises to be a worthwhile event. But what ball will Messi, Vini Jr, and Endrick be kicking around on US soil? Let’s take a look at the PUMA Cumbre.
The Puma Cumbre is the official ball of the Copa America 2024. CONMEBOL presented the ball on December 7 of last year at the initial group stage draw in Miami. Last week’s Copa America playoffs determined the last few participants in the summer competition, including six total CONCACAF guest squads.
“Cumbre,” meaning summit or peak, encompasses the majestic mountain ranges spanning the western Americas, including the iconic Andes and Rocky Mountains.
Furthermore, the ball represents the interconnectedness between North and South American teams. The design takes cues from the continent’s shape and showcases 16 unique lines for each participating football nation. Twelve sealed panels shroud the tech-enriched ball.
The red, white, and blue pay tribute to the host nation: the United States.
