According to Marca reporter Jose Felix Diaz, Mason Greenwood says called him a r*pist in last night’s matchup against Getafe. The alleged slur could result in a suspension for the 20-year-old star although Greenwood

What happened between Jude Bellingham and Mason Greenwood?

The two were going head to head on a lost ball during Real Madrid’s 2-nil victory at Getafe last night. La Liga is performing lip on Jude’s mouth to see if he said what he said. Others seem to think he quipped the British colloquial term “rubbish.”

In January 2022, police arrested the then 21-year-old Greenwood on charges of assault, attempted rape, and coercive behavior of his girlfriend, Harriet Robson. She dropped all charges a year later, eventually having a child with the former Manchester United striker.

In the interim, United loaned Greenwood to La Liga outfit Getafe, while sponsors, including and EA Sports, had previously dropped him. Getafe filed the alleged offensive slur complaint to La Liga on Greenwood’s behalf. However, the England international would rather not give the issue any extra attention amid his personal, professional, and brand rebuild.

Greenwood remains hopeful that Getafe will negotiate for his permanent transfer from Manchester United at the end of the season. The striker has four strikes and four assists in 18 domestic matches this term.

What are the potential implications for Bellingham?

RFEF, ‘s football governing body, might suspend Jude Bellingham if they found out he offended Mason Greenwood. Suspensions include anything from 10 games to the entire rest of the season.

“Yesterday, Getafe filed a formal complaint with the LaLiga match director who, as per standard procedure in such cases, has requested an expert lip-reading report to investigate the matter and act based on hard evidence,” a La Liga representative told Telegraph Sport.

Ironically, the same federation refuses to put much effort into penalizing fans who racially abuse .
