Air for Football

The elite Mercurial boot, debuted by Ronaldo Nazario in the 1998 , also gets a boost of air. A four-millimeter Nike Air Zoom unit embeds into the shoe's bottom part—the traction plate—enhancing the footballer's movements. We see you, Mbappe or not! âšĄïž

While the premium features, including a streamlined Flyknit upper, have a big impact on the pitch, so does the of the upgraded Superfly and low-collar Vapor Blueprint editions.

In the spirit of Nike's co-founder Bill Bowerman, the ‘glacier blue' Swoosh appears to be hand-dotted on the boot. Bowerman famously used a ballpoint pen to dot the Swoosh on runners' shoes to avoid carrying the logo extra weight. A shimmering spelling of “AIR” dons the back of the boot while orange and ‘blue orbit' highlight the metallic bottom designs.

Nike expects to launch additional colorways in early July ahead of the Paris games. Stay tuned to 433futbol for more information on the next reveals.
