Manchester City have dropped their new special edition “Definitely City” kit.
The shirt is a nod to the iconic rock band Oasis, whose lead guitarist and lifetime City fan is Noel Gallagher.
Design inspired by Oasis and ‘Definitely Maybe’
The new City 24/25 fourth kit celebrates the 30th anniversary of the band’s legendary first album release, Definitely Maybe. Gallagher, who also announced the group’s 2025 reunion and live shows, joined Puma to lead the design.
The cream-colored kit incorporates elements that mimic the 1994 album artwork, recreated by Pep Guardiola on guitar and City players Mateo Kovacic, Jess Park, and Kyle Walker, with goalkeeper Ederson lying on the floor.
Starting from the top, there’s a delightful blue collar with Gallagher’s hand-scrawled ‘Definitely City’ on the inside. Gallagher also penned the font style of every squad player and their number on the team’s home kit this season. The sleeves and side stripes on the new fourth kit adopt the same pastel color, delicately touched with pink on the cuff. The side panels and City badge also take on a subtle pink hue.
“Supersonic” waves, one of the hit singles on the debut release, radiates in complex marine blue outlines from the logo, mimicking the positioning and effect of the Earth’s globe in the cover art.
Plain blue shorts and socks complete the look. The ‘Definitley City’ collection also features a track jacket and pants, overshirt, bomber jacket, a tee-shirt, polo, retro jersey, and drill top.
“It’s a proper honour,” said Gallagher.
“When PUMA approached us at one of the games about designing a kit it took about five seconds to agree to it. It’s the same color palette as the cover of Definitely Maybe: it’s unique, but it’s definitely striking, and I think it looks great. When you see people representing your club, it’s important that they look good.
“Definitely Maybe has never lost its magic to me, I just think it’s an amazing snapshot of what we were about. With the anniversary, I’ve been listening to it a lot more than I would ever listen to it, it makes me smile – they were great times. It’s spawned a great football kit, it’s legacy lives on.”
Kit debut and full collection details
City will debut the kit on the European stage on September 18 at Etihad Stadium against Inter Milan. The club plans to wear the jersey in the new Champions League league phase away matches against Juventus, PSG, Slovan Bratislava, and Sporting.
