Why did Silva's wife issue the apology?

Mauricio Pochettino spoke with Thiago Silva on Tuesday to address his wife's discontent. It was the 39-year-old Brazilian defender who approached his boss.

“He came today to talk with me. I am not going to talk about the way we were talking. The important thing is he came and wanted to talk with me and of course, you know me after more than 10 years, how I am,” Pochettino told reporters.

“We are very strong coaching staff and very strong in our way to operate and the way that we are. he came to talk, we talk and that was private and that is it. Private things for me we keep inside.”

Silva intends to keep playing into his 40s, but Chelsea won't renew his contract this summer.
