Spain‘s new home and away kits for Euro 2024 aim to please. And let’s just say the first half of the release has already won plaudits, while the away shirt is paying the price for a little too much deviation.
The 2024 home shirt takes on Spain’s classic red flair, tinged with an intense, almost golden-yellow hue reserved for the logo and details. Bold golden-yellow stripes also run along the shoulders, meeting at the crew neck.
Looking more closely, one will see an intricate ripple pattern permeating the kit, with a yellow carnation on the top of the neck and yellow side stripes connecting to the blue and white short variations.
Meanwhile, the 2024 Adidas Spain Euro away shirt is a “pulse yellow,” virtually flipping all aspects of the home shirt. The logos adopt a vibrant red, while a light blue three-stipes slip on the shoulders and continue running down the side.
It’s certainly a unique beachy look, and while an eye-sore to some fans, it has excited others. Spain last wore a yellow away shirt during their victorious 2008 Euros title.
Yellow shorts and matching colored socks complete the look.
“The away jersey also applies the visual of waves and the beauty of the flower but with an unconventional colour pairing on the base and side panels – resulting in an aesthetic that represents a bustling Spanish beach in the middle of summer,” further describes Adidas.
