Manchester United supporters greeted their new signing Rasmus Hojlund during last Saturday’s friendly against Ligue 1 outfit Lens. Red Devils fans are now speculating about the shirt number Hojlund is most likely to wear at the club.
According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, United will reveal Hojlund’s number this week, pending the exit of another United player.
The Danish international sported the number 17 in his sole season with Italian Serie side Atalanta. He made his professional debut as a seventeen-year-old for Copenhagen’s youth academy. Last season, the 20-year-old forward scored nine goals for La Dea during the 22/23 season as they finished fifth in Serie A.
Meanwhile, Hojlund wears number 11 for the Danish national team.
Is Hojlund set to inherit Fred’s Number 17 shirt?
While Hojlund’s preferred jersey numbers, 17 and 11, are already in Fred’s and Mason Greenwood‘s hands, rumors are circulating about what would be the perfect fit for him.
It turns out that Hojlund will soon pluck the number 17 from his soon-to-be transferred teammate, Fred. The Brazilian expects to depart the club this summer with a possible $14 million transfer to Fulham or Turkish side Galatasaray.
The Old Trafford faithful will also have to wait for Hojlund’s debut too, as the $82 million transfer picked up a niggle in pre-season training with his previous club.
What number would you like Hojlund to wear in the Man United shirt?
