While no one may be able to replicate the success of Cesc Fabregas's former teammate , there is one player that Fabregas still believes will be one of the best.

In an interview with Diario AS, the 32-year-old Spaniard proclaimed 20-year-old as the world football's next superstar.

“He's a phenomenon. He's clearly going to be the best player in the world in the future,” said Fabregas.

“I always think like a midfielder and if I had him in front of me I'd be giving him assists all the time because he's so fast, explosive, but he's also very clever in slipping his markers.

“He has his timing down perfectly. Thierry Henry and Diego Costa were also brilliant at that. The thing that stands out about Mbappe is that he's so hungry, he knows how to exploit his ability.”

Can Mbappe be one of the best?

Mbappe helped lead France to a trophy as an 18-year-old. A prolific goalscorer for PSG, he netted 33 in 29 appearances last year (just 3 goals behind Messi) and finished fourth in last year's Ballon d'Or voting.

However, Mbappe will need to make the move to a more competitive league the Premier League or La Liga if he's going to earn his stake as the world's best.

After winning Ligue 1 Player of the Year honors this summer, Mbappe expressed his interest in taking on a new challenge in the near future.

According to Sport, Real Madrid plans to make Mbappe a priority signing next summer since the bid for Neymar collapsed. Los Blancos boss is a huge admirer of his compatriot saying, “Like any good player, I would be happy to coach him.”

Will we see Mbappe in at the Santiago Bernabeu next season? It's not hard to imagine him dazzling in that iconic white kit.
