Manchester United have confirmed a 10-year extension to their lucrative partnership with German sportswear giant Adidas, a deal estimated to be worth a minimum of $1.2 billion. Adidas x Manchester United is the biggest kit deal in Premier League and football history
The new shirt-making agreement, which will now run until 2035, underlines the commercial appeal of the Red Devils. Man United are one of the most popular and successful football clubs worldwide — their 20 league titles remain an English football record.
The Old Trafford club initially signed a 10-year deal with Adidas in 2015, which was then valued at $961 million, replacing their previous kit manufacturer Nike. The American firm spent 23 years manufacturing United kits before it ended its collaboration with the club.
Adidas new deal with Manchester United supersedes Nike and FC Barcelona's $1.1 billion partnership established in 2018. It also surpasses the Adidas kit deal with Real Madrid in 2015, worth nearly $1 billion over 10 years. The Adidas partnership also emphasizes Manchester United women's team in the ever-growing Women's Super League (WSL).
