You may notice something a bit different on some of Nike’s newest Premier League third . That’s because the iconic swoosh goes vertical, marking a striking deviation from the Swoosh’s horizontal prominence. But the redesign serves an important purpose.

The new vertical swoosh carries a significant symbolic message celebrating the evolution of women’s football and the broader movement towards equality in sports.

The hype around the Women’s continues to rise, as does the game at the club level. The top leagues are working together to co-promote each other’s fanbases, as seen in ‘s friendly with the Washington Spirit earlier this month.

Nike unveils new Collection

Nike’s redesign is part of the “Together We Rise” collection, which aims to honor the growth and recognition of women’s football from grassroots to professional levels.

As Nike explains, “Intentional vertical swoosh to show the upwards rise, togetherness and acceleration of women’s football.”

Several Premier League teams, including Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham, will debut the Dri-FIT ADV third kits. Nike also designed iterations for Athletic Madrid, Club America, and Corinthians.

From Chelsea’s 70s punk-inspired black and hot pink jersey to Liverpool’s classic white with red and gold accents, each design incorporates the new Swoosh to complement the kit’s overall aesthetic.

Chelsea official statement reads, “Two logos. Two teams. One goal. Worn by both the men’s and women’s squads, it points upward to celebrate the rise of women’s football.”

“I really like it. I like the colour and the detail on the shirt, especially with the Swoosh going up, which is a bit different,” commented Liverpool’s Andy Robertson.

“It’s signifying the rise of the women’s game and we’re a big part of it to try to help that.”

Meanwhile, the also show their rebellious spirit inspired by the Seven Trees planted at Tottenham High Road.
