Paris Saint Germain‘s home kit for next season has dropped. As expected, the video promo excludes superstar Kylian Mbappe, linked with a sensational move to Real Madrid this summer. But back to the kits.
The new 2024/25 PSG kit is a continuation of past Nike designs, emphasizing the club’s iconic Hechter stripe. The club continues to remix the emblematic vertical stripe, alternating it between predominant red and white layouts over the primarily blue colorway the last few seasons.
The team’s 2021/22 Jordan kit drew ire from some fans for excluding the bold stripe completely, forcing the club to create a third kit, controversy featuring the pattern in a horizontal version. It was a strange decision, which the club properly reversed for its third kit the following season.
The tried-and-true PSG fans want their classic red Hechter stripe back, to which Nike finally acquiesced, subtly weathering it on next season’s shirt to mimic a brushed texture. The painted look intends to exemplify Paris’s modern urban art scene where creativity clashes with original design.
What are your thoughts on PSG’s post-Mbappe era new kit?
