Adidas have unveiled the Jamaica football team’s new home and away shirts and training range.
The new kits, designed by British fashion designer Grace Wales-Bonner, are an extension of her eponymous luxury brand, inspired by her Jamaican heritage.
The kits also drop on Bob Marley’s birthday — the reggae legend was born 78 years ago today.
Adidas x Jamaica 2023 Home Jersey
These Adidas kits are something special, with the home jersey featuring the distinctive Jamaican colors of green, black, and gold in the design. But it’s the pinstripes, unlike Lebron’s Liverpool kit, that accentuate the throwback reggae vibe. ‘Big tings’ indeed.
One Instagrammer said, “Adidas allergic to the letter L when it comes to kits.” We can’t disagree — Adidas’ design has been on fire lately.
Adidas x Jamaica 2023 Away Jersey and pregame kit
The new Jamaica away kit is just as glorious as the home. The predominantly black colorway gets premium crochet plus-ups from Wales-Bonner on the banded collar and shirt ends.
Meanwhile, the pre-match navy jersey showcases a pattern reminiscent of classic Fair Isle knitwear.
Grime artist Kano and DJ Nia Archives display the respective shirts for the Reggae Girlz and Bozy below.
Accompany the new kit is a reversible anthem jacket, minimalist in its approach adopting the gold on the home side and the pre-match aesthetic of the away. The Adidas Sportswear logo and Jamaica crest take prominence.
There’s a forthcoming black tracksuit layered in gold and green stripes that form part of the Jamaica 2023 collection as well.
Adidas and Wales Bonner have paid homage to Jamaica’s iconic style and vibrant culture in the perfect way — this is football fashion at its peak.
