He's a man in demand, Ivan Toney is. The Brentford striker expects to depart the club during the winter transfer window, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Spurs as potential suitors. But the transfer won't come cheap. Which team is in the best position to snatch the 27-year-old forward? Let's have a look.
Ivan Toney to Arsenal
Arsenal appears to be the frontrunner in the race to sign Ivan Toney. But the Gunners need to offload some players before making the west London side an offer. That's because Arsenal spent nearly $250 million on reinforcements during the same transfer window, including Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, and Jurrien Timber.
Tomas Partey could be one to leave the Emirates during the winter, with the midfielder fetching upwards of a $49 million fee. Juventus are keen to see the Ghanaian but are prepared to be outbid by a Saudi Arabian side, Al-Ahli.
With continued injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah's mercurial style of play, Mikel Arteta needs a sure scorer to fill the center forward role. Assuming Ivan Toney is in the same game shape he was before the gambling ban, his presence could do wonders to supercharge another Gunners title run.
Ivan Toney to Chelsea
The Blues are better positioned to afford the $98 million transfer fee Brentford holds out for. Despite Nicolas Jackson's hat-trick on Monday night against Spurs, Chelsea are desperate for a sure-all finisher. Toney fits that bill.
Todd Boehly is unafraid of splashing the cash as the club is looking at Napoli's Victor Osimhen, too. The latter is more an elite-level player the Blues are ideally looking for. But don't let that stop Troy Deeney from thinking Toney is still the best fit for Chelsea. “My advice to him would be to join a project where you fit like a glove–and that would be Chelsea,” said Deeney.

Ivan Toney to Tottenham
Arsenal and Chelsea appear to be leading the chase for Toney's signature, yet Tottenham emerges as a compelling alternative for the sought-after forward.
Postecoglou's side is off to its best start after ten games in the Premier League. Toney could reinforce the front line well, a semi-like-for-like replacement for Harry Kane, who left Spurs for over $122 million last summer.
“He brings a different level of aggression, height, hold-up play, link-up play and he's a finisher. I think he would suit Chelsea maybe the most; I think he could play for Spurs. I don't know who needs him the most because I think they all need him,” said former Liverpool striker and Sky Sports pundit Daniel Sturridge.
