has released a unique Argentina retro collection in a nod to the mid-1990s.

The Adidas Retro National Originals remakes one of the Maradona editions of the Argentina kit. The new version pays homage to the one the La Albiceleste wore at the 1994 World Cup by honoring the same navy . Oddly enough, Maradona only played two games in the shirt. FIFA banned him from football for 15 months after testing positive for the drug ephedrine.

The Adidas Argentina 1994 remake features three rows of diamonds across the right side, flanked by the Adidas brand logo (spelled out) in the center, the iconic number 10, and the AFA crest. The three Adidas stripes align the shoulders, topped off with a black collar.

However, the 2024 version includes an evident jacquard pattern that emanates to the shorts. World Cup winner modeled off the kit remake, part of a collection that contains tracksuits, t-shirts, and shorts. Adidas also rereleased national team retro collections for nine other federations, including Germany, Italy, Mexico, and . You can see the entire capsule here.

Argentina takes on Uruguay this Thursday in World Cup qualifying at La Bombonera. 36-year-old Luis Suarez is set to return to La Celeste, facing off against his friend Lionel Messi before the two reunite at next MLS season.
